Bodum French Press
The first thing I like to do in the morning is to make a cup of coffee. I could use a coffee pot with a timer so I could wake to fresh coffee but I prefer to make my coffee with a Bodum French press maker.

Just having a Bodum French press coffee maker doesn't mean you are going to have a great cup of coffee; you need to start with the right 'grind'.
If you have your coffee ground at the shop you buy your beans from, you can get the right ground by letting the barista know how you intend to brew your coffee. If you grind your coffee at home, then I recommend a fall-through style grinder rather than the popular spice mills available today.
Why do I dislike the spice mills? To extract the fullest flavor from French press coffee your coffee grounds should be flat and round; this can be achieved with a fall-through grinder set to grind for French press. The spice mills so common today chop the beans but the grinds continue to float around the chamber and get caught again by the blades; created an espresso grind instead of the intended French press grind.
After you have put the desired amount of coffee grinds into the French press, next you want to add water. I've read before that 198 degrees fahr. is the best temperature for French press coffee but I'm to lazy to worry about the difference between 198 degrees and boiling water.
Myself, I fill the quart-size Pyrex measuring cup with the right amount of water and I put it in the microwave for four minutes. It is always boiling when completed and I pour that into the French press maker. With the leftover water, I fill my intended coffee cup to pre-heat it.
Next I set my timer for three minutes. Now I use 12 oz. and 16 oz. French press coffee makers and three minutes to five minutes is fine for me. I can allow the two minute leeway because sometimes I'll be occupied with something else when the timer sounds and the coffee doesn't taste any different at five minutes than it does at three minutes.
Now that I'm ready to pour my French press coffee, I always put it in a pre-heated coffee cup as I stated earlier. At home I prefer ceramic or tempered glass cups for drinking coffee as other styles of cups add a residual flavor that I don't care for.
